Our Cottage
Named after a previous elderly owner who was a local character known to speak her mind and skinny dip in the river below the cottage, Dorothy’s Cottage is a two bedroom stone property located at the end of a private lane quietly off the public road and overlooking private allotments used only by our neighbours who maintain them beautifully all year round.
Dorothy’s Cottage has two beautiful bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower over the bath upstairs. One King size bed and one single can accommodate 3 people. Sheets, pillow cases, towels, tea towels, pillows and duvets are provided for your stay.
The Living Room is spacious with a large sofa and a snuggle chair. A wood fired stove fitted into the original stone fireplace makes for cosy nights and a door gives direct access to the lovely terrace area.
The bright and sunny Dining Kitchen has everything you need for either a short or long stay with Neff oven and hob and a dishwasher and washer / dryer. A table with 3 comfy chairs creates a quiet place to enjoy your breakfast or evening meals.
Our cottage has WiFi throughout and a 50” smart 4k TV in the sitting room and a 43” smart 4K TV in the kitchen / dining room. You can sign in to your own streaming services as you wish on each TV and the soundbar in the sitting room can be used as a Bluetooth speaker for streaming your own music.
Outside is a large terrace area with outside table and chairs where you can enjoy quiet dappled sunlight while listening to the river, the trees gently swaying in the wind and the abundance of wildlife such as birds and squirrels.

In the Heart of Northumberland
Nestled in a corner of a Northumberland village with easy access to the North Pennines, Hadrians Wall and Kielder Water and Forest you can enjoy everything the area has to offer.
If you feel like venturing further afield its a short journey to the Lake District, the Solway Coast, the Northumberland Coast and the Scottish Borders with shopping at Carlisle, Hexham and Newcastle not too far away.
Park Village is on a bus route from Haltwhistle where you can get the train to most destinations, and just 2 miles from the A69 for easy access by road.
